Pre Fit Barrel Builder – Official Announcement
Here at Match Grade Machine, we have always strived to be the highest quality option for Thompson Center break-action rifles. As our company grows we have branched out with the capabilities to manufacture our own barrels in house and work on bolt action rifles. We started Preferred Barrels to create a clear separation of what each company’s product offerings are. MGM will continue to provide the highest quality TC barrels that you know us for, and Preferred Barrels will be selling barrel blanks and prefit barrels for factory actions like Remington 700, Ruger American, Tikka T3, Savage and more. This will officially launch Preferred Barrels as our barrel blank supplier and bolt action barrel replacements and allow MGM to work harder on producing Thompson Center Encore, Contender, and G2 barrels.
Preferred Barrels website is up and running with our new prefit barrel builder. Currently, we have 10 actions to start from, some with variable shoulders and barrel nuts while a few have a fixed shoulder for high-end custom actions. We offer stainless and Chromoly for each prefit offered in polished or matte. When selecting the barrel length there is a maximum of 27”. With a large caliber selection from 12 different bore sizes, we should have what you’re looking for. More than 9 contours are available to get the ideal weight and feel for your build. We have many fluting options to keep your barrel unique. Select a cerakote option for flutes only or whole barrel to really set it off. Add threading to the crown for suppressor mounts or our muzzle brakes made in house that do not require timing.
We set out to make selecting a prefit as easy as possible while also giving you as many options that we can offer. If you have any questions regarding the builder or site please contact us? Don’t forget, we also sell blanks and contoured blanks at lower rates with shorter lead times than other companies. Our barrels are held to very tight tolerances through the length of the bore. We utilize air gauging to check internal bore diameter to .00005”. Our prefit lead time is around three weeks for a custom prefit barrel. We are still growing our product line and will soon have .277 caliber barrels along with .375 bore rifle barrels in the near future.
