Match Grade Machine has strived to make high quality, custom, precise Thompson center break action replacement barrels with short lead times since we started in 2005. We are the only company to produce each piece of the TC barrels in house under one roof. At the heart of the process is the barrel, through the years we ran into supply issues from other barrel manufacturers. In an effort to keep our lead times short and predictable we purchased the necessary machinery to manufacture our own barrels in 2017. After our own testing – as well as customer feedback we realized we had something to offer as a barrel blank manufacturer. So in late 2018 we officially launched Preferred Barrel Blanks.

​​Match Grade Machine and Preferred Barrel Blanks are produced at the same location with the same experienced and knowledgeable staff producing products for both. Preferred Barrels strives to produce high quality barrels with strict quality control, at an affordable cost, with short lead times. In the short time Preferred Barrels has been operating we have grown at a steady rate – quickly approaching barrel sales that equal MGM.

​​Currently Preferred offers unturned barrel blanks with calibers ranging from .224” – .458”. We also offer contoured blanks with our own contours; or custom contours available upon request, as well as prefit replacement barrels for many modern bolt actions. We have seen the most interest in our custom made-to-order prefit barrels. Preferred offers many of the same custom barrel options such as custom lengths, twist rates, chambers, threading, fluting designs and cerakote options.
